Terms & Conditions
These Terms & Conditions apply to purchases made through the Lava Glassworks website. By placing an order with us, you agree to the terms below.
Lava Glassworks creates handmade fused glass artwork in Fife, Scotland.
1. Handmade Products
All Lava Glassworks pieces are individually handmade. Due to the nature of fused glass, slight variations in colour, shape, size, texture, bubbles and finish may occur.
These variations are a natural part of the glass-fusing process and make each piece unique. They are not considered faults.
We make every effort to ensure photographs and descriptions accurately represent our products. However, colours may appear slightly different depending on your screen or device.
2. Orders
When you place an order through our website, you will receive an order confirmation by email.
Your order is accepted once payment has been successfully processed and we have confirmed the order.
If we are unable to fulfil an order for any reason, we will contact you and issue a full refund for the affected item.
3. Prices & Payment
All prices are displayed in the currency shown on the website at the time of purchase.
Any applicable delivery charges will be shown before you complete your order.
Payment must be made using one of the payment methods available at checkout.
Payment is taken securely through our payment provider. Lava Glassworks does not directly store your full card details.
4. Delivery
We aim to prepare and dispatch orders within the timescale stated on the relevant product page.
Delivery times are estimates and may vary, particularly during busy periods or because of circumstances outside our control.
Customers are responsible for providing a complete and accurate delivery address when placing an order.
Where international delivery is available, customers may be responsible for local import duties, taxes or customs charges imposed by the destination country.
5. Returns & Cancellations
For standard, non-personalised products purchased online, you normally have the right to cancel your order within 14 days of receiving your goods.
After notifying us of your cancellation, the goods should normally be returned to us within a further 14 days.
Unless an item is faulty, damaged or incorrect, you are responsible for the cost of returning it.
Returned goods should be handled with reasonable care and packaged securely to protect the glass during transit.
Please see our separate Refund & Returns Policy for full details.
Your statutory rights are not affected.
6. Personalised, Bespoke & Commissioned Pieces
Products made to your specifications or clearly personalised are normally exempt from the standard change-of-mind cancellation right once production has begun.
This includes commissioned artwork and pieces made specifically to an agreed personalised design.
This does not affect your rights if an item is faulty, damaged, not as described or we have made an error with your order.
7. Damaged or Faulty Items
Every piece is carefully checked and packaged before dispatch.
If your order arrives damaged, faulty or incorrect, please contact us as soon as reasonably possible and provide your order details and photographs showing the item and packaging where appropriate.
We will assess the issue and, where appropriate, arrange a replacement, repair or refund.
Nothing in these Terms & Conditions limits your statutory rights relating to faulty or misdescribed goods.
8. Glass Artwork & Care
Glass is a fragile material and should be handled with appropriate care.
Lava Glassworks cannot accept responsibility for damage caused after delivery through accidental breakage, misuse, inappropriate handling, incorrect installation or failure to follow any care instructions supplied with the product.
9. Workshops & Experiences
Where workshops or other experiences are offered through Lava Glassworks, any specific booking, cancellation and attendance conditions displayed when booking will also apply.
Workshop places may be subject to separate cancellation or rescheduling conditions because materials, studio space and teaching time are reserved in advance.
Any applicable workshop conditions will be clearly provided before booking.
10. Intellectual Property
All Lava Glassworks artwork, product designs, photographs, written content, branding and other original material displayed on this website remain the intellectual property of Lava Glassworks or their respective rights holders.
They may not be copied, reproduced, commercially exploited or used without permission.
Purchasing an artwork does not transfer intellectual property rights in the design.
11. Website Information
We take reasonable care to ensure information on our website is accurate and current.
Occasionally, errors may occur in product descriptions, availability or pricing. Where this happens, we reserve the right to correct the error and will contact you if it affects an order you have already placed.
12. Liability
Nothing in these terms excludes or limits liability where it would be unlawful to do so.
To the extent permitted by law, Lava Glassworks will not be responsible for losses that were not reasonably foreseeable when an order was placed.
These terms do not affect your statutory consumer rights.
13. Changes to These Terms
We may update these Terms & Conditions from time to time to reflect changes to our business, website or applicable law.
The terms applying to your purchase will normally be those in force when you placed your order.
